Wow, that sucks.
You can probably submit a ticket to restore your characters though - I don't know the specifics of how it's done, but I know that it is possible.

Yeah, I submitted a ticket, and it seems like they are going to do it. Still waiting to hear from a "game specialist" to get the final word. (fingers crossed!)
