Oh dudes, I couldn't even watch the last couple of minutes of Game of Thrones tonight - as soon as Ronan started melting down his blingage, I knew something horrible was coming, so I covered my ears and shut my eyes and basically waited until the screaming stopped and I heard the end-credits theme start playing ( Read more... )

Wait, Ronan started...what?

I've not seen the episode yet, it's recorded, but not gonna watch til at least Wednesday. Got the book, but not there yet. My advice, watch and see, or else it'll end up way worse in your head. (Or a nasty shock next week.) Unless it's horrible, in which case stay away... not that that's real useful advice... ;)

Are you sure you want me to tell you? It's spoilery.

Nooo, I have to get someone else to watch it first - if the grossness is implied, I'll watch it properly but if it's graphic and horrible I need to be prepared!

I thrive on spoilers! TV.com's recap has this to say...

Viserys demands his crown, and Drogo obliges, while Dany translates. "You shall have a golden crown that men shall tremble to behold." At first Viserys is eager to get what he wants, but then Drogo empties out a cooking pot and places a golden belt into it. The belt is melted back to liquid gold. Drogo then pours the gold onto Viserys's head, killing him. Dany says that Viserys was not a dragon. "Fire cannot kill a dragon."

So, not alive, and so probably unlikely to make a repeat appearance, but how gross it was to actually watch, dunno...

Viserys is a full-on 'tardbeast in that scene - he's all like, I WANTS MA CROWN! and Dany is like, *ice-cold* You will have a crown... OF DOOM AND TERROR!!!!1111!!!!111eleventy-one!! and Ronan is mostly silent but his beard is saying NOW YOU MUST DIE in semaphore and Viserys is like YAY GOLD IS FOR I! but then NO!

Oh, thank God he's definately dead - his bitchfits were hilarious to watch, but at least he won't be plastering his melty face all over my TV ona Monday night.

Brrr. I get you on this one. I get mega parnoid about disfigurement kind of stuffs; it squicks me. I think I remember watching some extreme horror film where a guy is forced to have his face dunked in a bucket of acid. Horrifying. It tramautised me for weeks. It was kind of like reading a horrid ghost story that ran around my mind in circles. Ugh.

There was a film where some dudes were shrunk down to microscopic size and they went into this other dudes' body and they were fighting and then the bad shrunk guy fell out of his space-ship into the non-shrunken guy's stomach acid and his corpse bumped up against the window of good shrunk guys ship and his face was sizzling off, OH MY GOD it was the most terrifying thing my twelve-year-old self had ever seen!

I still haven't gotten up the nerve to watch those last few minutes - my mum's seen it and said it wasn't that bad, but this is the woman who let me watch The Fly as a toddler and was suprised when I woke up screaming every night for a week and have always been freaked out by insects.
