Two weeks after I returned to the Rock, my multi-region DVD player broke down. My laptop is chipped to play pretty much anything you throw at it, but there are few things more upsetting than sitting in a room with 52 inches of LED heaven staring you in the face and having to watch the first Addams Family movie on a fucking computer ( Read more... )

Thor was awesome, because Loki is awesome. It took me two viewings and a dive into fandom to discover this, but it's very true. Watch it again, you'll see what I mean. Or maybe you won't, but it's true. Though Idris Elba was awesome too, I'll give you that. And you get guilt-free incest as they aren't actually related. Awesomeness!

I watched like five minutes of Alexander the other week. Turned it off before I threw something at the TV.

Ha, the Losers = win!

Everyone I talk to seems to love it, which makes me think I am missing something because I completely do not understand this concept! I mean, okay, Loki was slightly more interesting than everyone else, but only because everyone else was about as exciting as boiled cauliflower and a glass of tap water served in a beige room. I mean, why is he a random blue Lorne? What is with Anthony Hopkins and stealing babies? Who even does that?! Why didn't the main Blue Lorne get mad about the baby stealing? This is all so failsome AND it didn't even have Tony Stark and his beard in it ( ... )

Laufey was hiding his son away because he was ashamed of him for not being giant enough. I don't know if he was upset that he got stolen, (and I agree its a very weird thing to do!) but I doubt it. He never knew it was Odin that stole him though, so he never realised Loki was actually his son. If he had, I suspect things might have been a little different in relations between Asgard and Jotunheim before the events of the movie.
Whatever he was thinking though, Odin might have saved Loki's life by taking him.

I switched Alexander on 20mins into it, and it must have been during one of the not so good moments. Also, for some reason I couldn't take Colin Farrell seriouly in the role.

Laufey should hide HIMSELF away for a) being a giant with a stupid name like "Laufey" and b) looking like Lorne from Angel, only blue, and not even wearing crazy suits or singing karoke.

Normally I would scold you for disrespecting Colin Farrel, but I just saw the trailer for the new Fright Night movie and I'm not feeling very pleased with him myself, so I shall let it slide.
