The problem with watching Deadwood is that, awesome as it is, it makes anything else you watch look unbelievably trashy by comparison. It's like, say you watch some Deadwood, and then the next night you catch a couple of episodes of SG1, and all you can think of is that Al Swearengen would have solved all their problems ten minutes into the episode ( Read more... )

I've never seen Deadwood - shameful I know. It's one of those shows where I kept meaning to watch it and never seem to get round to it. I'm watching Carnivale this week - makes a nice change from Lost which makes my brain hurt. I still don't understand that programme.

Deadwood is one of those shows that is so well put together, so well-cast, written, acted and directed, that despite my immense love-affair with Ian McShane, I hardly ever talk about it simply because I have nothing snide to say. However, since I have meant to watch Carnivale for months and never gotten around to it, I suppose I can't fault you.

I swear, Lost is just the makers of the show having a good laugh at our expense. I think Gadzuki is to blame for everything. Everyone hates Gadzuki.

We'll have to swap - I'll watch Deadwood and you watch Carnivale. Not that I understand Carnivale but it's pretty. Lost is weird.

:) I thought of you when I watched Final Fantasy: Advent Children yesterday. I'm sure that there's about five voice actors in Hollywood.

Wasn't Carnivale cancelled? I recall hearing something to that effect, which always puts me off as there's nothing more frustrating than unresolved plotlines. And on that note, Lost is getting worse and worse for not giving us any answers. It's like, I don't mind waiting a season for certain major plotpoints to be resolved, but all we're getting is more questions and no answers in sight.

Oh my God, how squeal-worthy are Rude and Reno? And you're not wrong about the voice-actors; that whole industry is rife with the kind of inbreeding that puts most of South Carolina to shame.
