It had been three months since he had seen her. Six months since he was made, created... trapped in a human body and left to do as he would. Rose had left, left him to try to "figure things out

Wearing only a light pink t-shirt and cotton shorts, Rose was busy doing paper work. Only a dim lamp in the corner and the blue glow of her laptop on the paper filled kitchen table was the light in the whole flat. It had gotten to the point where that's all she was doing these days.
After the initial heartache and guilt she felt from doing what she did and saying what she said, she dove into her work.
It didn't help, really.
Torchwood was all about protecting the Earth, and aliens, and alien technology- all were reminders of her short time with her Doctor.
HER Doctor.
She didn't have one at all now. Not that she deserved one.
She had thought he didn't deserve her, but these three months had proven that it was the exact opposite

The words she needed to hear six months ago still rang true as the words she needed to hear now, and it seemed like he knew.
"I love you too," breaking the kiss, it seemed so natural to say it.
Even if it was the first time she had ever said it to him- this Doctor- her part human alien.
After a moment, she turned her head and looked at the pile of work on the table and frowned, then to the clock, then back to him as if making a mental decision.
"D'you want some tea? I want some tea."
She then kissed him quickly with a smile, and turned on the light to the kitchen, flinching at the brightness, but feeling drunk on the feeling of happiness she hadn't felt in what seemed like ages.

She almost flinched at the "regenerate" part, played it off and smiled brightly.
"I don't think it's your last night on Earth, only because I- don't really talk to them much," she looked down and but her lip, "I mean, not since-"
As if with perfect timing the teapot went off.
"So!" she turned, and busied herself with fixing two cups, and getting the sugar and cream out. There was something she was hiding from him.
"Besides, I really wanted to get my work done," she put the cup to her mouth and nodded toward the laptop and papers around her kitchen table.
Rose hoped he didn't really look into what the work entailed, but knew better. Best to tell him now, and get it over with.
"Doctor?" she sounded afraid to say what she wanted to next, "there's something I need to tell you."
Just say it! her brain commanded, but she averted her eyes and took a breath, waiting for his response instead. It wasn't every day that you find out that you can't die.
He eyed her, he could tell from her mannerisms something was wrong, he was waiting though, he knew she wanted to tell him something.
"Yes? What's the matter?" He touches her cheek.
He could feel something different, something about her had changed, but he thought nothing of it until this moment. He could not place this lingering feeling.
"Well, I haven't just been doing work just because I can... I mean, yeah I sort of threw myself into it after we- you know..." She ran a hand through her hair as she thought of how to say it.
"There was this... thing, this alien, that Torchwood was trying to do negotiations with- about a week after you left. Well, he sort of..." Rose felt wrong to say it- he just returned, and he had left Jack behind for being wrong... would he leave her behind again too?
"He sort of...killed me- I mean, he should have."
She walked over to the table with the papers, and pulled a particular document from her "outbox" chair, "See for yourself. The medical records. I was pronounced dead at 19:22, and came back at 19:43. About twenty minutes later." She hugged herself and rubbed her arms, looking like a child who had done something wrong. "We tested it. My choice..."
A range of emotions ran over his face as she spoke.
"Well, wouldn't that be an advantage? Sort of."
So that's what felt off, and now that she pointed it out, she did have a lingering sense about her, the same he felt when he was near Jack. He takes the paper from her and quickly scans the numbers.
"Almost the same timing as Jack" he said absently. He saw her worry her lip, he could tell she was hanging on for approval or dismissal. He's just going to pull her into a hug and kiss the top of her head.

She looked at him for a moment before she almost pounced on him and kissed him. That was it. He wasn't going to leave her.
He can help her!
She wanted to talk about with him, how she felt, what she thought, but right now... right now all she wanted was to kiss him, and hold him. He was here. He was back. He wasn't going to leave her. She was going to fix what she did.
Rose took a breath, looked up at him again, smiled in that flirtatious way she knew he loved, and kissed him again, this time slow and soft. She was tired, physically and mentally, but she literally had all the time in the world, and she didn't want to waste any more time with her half Time Lord in front of her that loved her- and now she felt what the other one had felt. He was going to grow old and die before she did.
There was a difference though... this only made her kiss him harder- she needed her time with him now.
Oh, and he was being kissed. Somehow it still always caught him off guard. He's quick to react and return the kiss. He wraps his arms around her, his wonderful Rose.
Now wasn't the time to talk theories and science. Debates on exactly how alien he was, or how long she'd live. This moment was far more complex then any of that, and infinitely simpler.
His human responses kick in faster than he would like and his jeans tighten. He's almost frustrated by the lack of control he has over this new body.

She felt him as she was pressed against him, and grinned. She took his hand and led him from the table to her couch and pushed him down. With that smile still across her features, she climbed over him, letting her hair fall around her face, and kissed him again, this time with a sense of eagerness within it.
He wouldn't admit that he had missed sex, but as a human male, he sure had. His hands moved to her hips tracing soft patterns over the fabric. He deepens the kiss tracing her lips with the tip of his tongue.

"When have I ever turned down your tea?" and this is true, Rose, unlike her mother made very good tea.
Once she has the kettle on he stands behind her and wraps his arms around her, just needing to have her close.

"What am I gonna tell Mum?!"
She leaned against the counter, facing him, and laughed.
"She's been worried sick about me. And she's probably gonna give you a good one in the face- that is, if Dad doesn't shoot you first."

"How about we worry about that when it's daylight?" he cocks an eyebrow at her, remembering how fond she was of the looks he could give her.
"And... if this is my last night on Earth..." He grins wildly, he has missed flirting with her.
