About an hour ago, some of you lost power after a broadcast by Mr. Stark showing a test gone awry. On behalf of City Solutions and Mr. Stark, I'd like to formally apologize for the inconvenience and assure you that the situation is being handled by the best in the company. Unfortunately, it's come to our attention that the City's electric grid is ( Read more... )

I'm working on it. I've got a couple of arc reactor power supplies lying around if we need to--I'll have to put portable generators on my to do list.

They already are. Will the reactors work as backup until you fix it properly?

Yes. I'm wiring them in as we speak. They're not meant to power an entire City for any amount of time but it should work until Hardison figures the system out.

Band aid what you can, at least. We can't leave people without power for too long, and we need to consider that deities may not take it well.

Miss Rushman?

Tony said I should talk to you. I used to - when Tony was here before, I used to help clean up and organize things where he worked - and sometimes remind him to take a break and eat if he got caught up in stuff.

Jarvis is a capable judge of character, Miss...?

[Muffled, obviously to someone in her vicinity.] No, get someone on the problem immediately.

I apologize, I'm in the middle of-- well, you've probably heard. Anyway-- do you have qualifications you can list out? Or would you be more inclined to speak in person?

Oh, I'm not a Miss. I'm not important like that. I'm just Rain.

I... I don't have much of anything. I work at the Library and it likes me too. I used to work for Tony afterwards. I'm good at organizing and straightening up and knowing what not to touch. But I don't have like any school or job stuff except doing stuff like that - a little back home. And my work in the Library.

Rain, okay. In that case, please call me Natalie.

The library likes you? That's fine, paperwork isn't required. Are you looking to perform janitorial work then? A maid service of a sort?

Perhaps Tony has neglected to mention -- I could quite likely put in safety measures that would prevent him from doing something like this in the future. I am from the year 2114, and am an expert in hardware -- including power electronics.

Safety measures? That would be a good idea, yes.

Has he even mentioned me? I hear that you are his assistant.

I am SHODAN. Hypothetically, I work for him in exchange for an apartment.

I'm aware of the arrangement, yes.

[to someone beside her, quietly mumbling:] Take a message unless it's urgent.

You'll likely have to submit details about your modifications to him first, of course.
