[There's something very odd going on this week. First Karkat then the Doctor and now Jade is whispering into the phone and thinks she's alone? Very, very peculiar.

She approaches her while she's still on the phone, gingerly tapping her on the shoulder.] Toothy- ah, Jade?

[ Jade doesn't feel anything at all. Once she's finished her call, she sets down the phone and breathes deeply, shakily. ]

[ Jade twists her hands nervously in her lap, waiting for someone to answer, trying desperately not to cry. ]

[He can tell just by looking at her that something is wrong, but he can especially tell when she bumps into him and brushes past as though she can't see him.]

[ Another message. Jade glances its way, sees the grey, doesn't even stop to read it. She's seen more messages from him than anyone else, blocky grey caps that seem to follow her everywhere. She keeps her head down, muttering to herself. ]

[He grabs ahold of her arm, attempting to keep her from leaving.]

[ She doesn't feel his hand on her arm, but when something keeps her from walking she's suddenly alarmed. She yanks her arms around, turns sharply on her heel. ]

[He overhears the phone call and enters her room, reaching towards her.]

[ Jade doesn't acknowledge him, and why would she? He's not there. Long gone. She clutches something to her chest as she stares at him, at empty space. ]

[He tries to pull her into a hug when she doesn't react, worried.]

Hey, come on. Whatever's wrong, you can jam about it with me.

[ Even if she can't feel it, she can't ignore the fact that something is moving her. She struggles against him, kicking and fighting. ]

[everyone's been acting so strange, even by Mayfield standards. it feels like Halloween all over again except, as far as he knows, there aren't UFOs zooming around and there's nary a giant bug in sight. at least those factors would add an element of color to an otherwise morbidly dreary day and would make walking home much more exciting.
