I think the ideal are the pictures that do that. My favorite of those kinds of pictures that depict something subtle that hints at hilariously catastrophic consequences. I think of an example in a minute...

I know what you mean, and I completely agree. To create something subtle that has so many important inferences is pure genius. It's so much more genius to do that than to lay all of it out for your audience to see.
