This morning was crazy. Meghan and I had to get our TB tests and she had to get a physical. We had the world's slowest elderly doctor (though he was so incredibly nice) and that threw us off our schedule making us about 20 minutes late for our dental appointments. Meg and Maddie are doing well. The dentist saw the beginning of wigglies in Maddie ( Read more... )

Mat has an enormous jaw and average sized teeth; he's got all four wisdom teeth back there. Me on the other hand, I have a wimpy little jaw and horse teeth, so I got my wisdom teeth out before they even erupted. I'm better than my bio parents though, who both had to get rid of adult teeth in addition to their wisdom teeth for them all to fit.

Greg had a small jaw too which Maddie might have inherited. He had his 12 year molars pulled so his wisdom teeth could come in.

Yay for Mat and his wisdom teeth! Boo you had to get them out. :( Meghan had hers taken out when they were inside too. Made it easier on her in the long run.

I *had* all four wisdom teeth, but my dentist recommended they come out. As it turns out, worst mistake I ever made. I wish I had just left them there - they weren't causing problems, but he was certain they would. I would prefer your dentist's outlook. I no longer go to that dentist, by the way.

Whoever you are, your icon made me confused and then laugh out loud, very loudly. Huzzah!

I have been lucky over the years to have "progressive" dentists. I am also one of the few people my age that still have my tonsils (in regard to all those who suffered from tonsillitis). My "progressive" pediatrician thought the tonsils were there to catch serious illness and thought it was wrong to take them out just because of sore throats. He said the only way he'd do it is if they repeatedly got so swollen they blocked passage by touching.

My maternal grandfather, my mother, brother, and I never will have wisdom teeth. More than likely, my brother and my offspring wont, either.

We all have above-average IQ's... maybe we didn't need the wisdom, eh?
