Mm, that was an excellent very long weekend! May has been horrible in some ways but rather brilliant in others. The first Bank Holiday was great fun, involving as it did hanging out with blahflowers, societyscaresme & K in Greenwich - rain stopped play, literally but we did find a very nice local pub instead - going with hazyjayne to catsgomiaow & mrs_leroy_brown's birthday celebrations at Big Red, then

Unsurprisingly, I really like that Wovenhand track, and am sort of baffled that I haven't come across them before.

I posted a video of their version of Dylan's "As I Went Out One Morning" a couple of months back. It is AMAZING. Everything I've heard them do so far is AMAZING (4 albums and counting, never off my listening pile). I think you definitely want to check them out - IIRC you were quite fond on Tindersticks stuff, y? And while I wouldn't say they sound like that exactly, there's a certain common tone, IYKWIM. Glad you enjoyed it. I think you'd have liked the gig too - if I get the chance I'll try and write something about it. David Eugene Edwards is a strange man.

I am slightly baffled at not having come across them before either, as I was aware of DEE's previous band, Sixteen Horsepower, but had not really got into them before. I'm going to have to count them as my first great Spotify discovery!
