Squee, I'm excited! (Even though I really don't like the song!) See, that's how good your stuff is! I think I even vaguely remember discussing POV possibilities for it with you once? IDK. *goes off to download*

Well, hopefully I can improve the song for you a little bit.

Yeah, I actually posted about this in December, waay before I thought of actually doing it, and we talked about the POV. I did not gender-flip it in this vid, although maybe someday in the future I'll try that! It was the conversation with amyhit that kept me thinking, hmm, maybe I can actually do something with this...

I'm sure it will! The best vids always do, and you know how much I love your first one. I just need a moment to sit down and actually appreciate this one! *grumbles about crap to do around the condo*

Yay for amyhit, then! (I mean, more so than usual.)

ETA: I am back! Unsurprisingly, I loved it! (You even made me like the song! Dammit. I knew that would happen.) There was one bit I was a little jarred by (the black bit lingering at one point; I didn't check the time, but I'm sure you know which bit I mean), but other than that, I really loved it! Very sharp editing. I remember liking especially the cut from Mulder out in the rain on Pilot road with his arms in the air, to him going a bit crazy in the office from Anasazi, very nice flow. And the ending, of course, was quite powerful.

Great job! Argh, I love your vids. I hope you don't mind if I digest it a bit more and then pimp it in a future post.

Oooh my first impression is that I very much like it, but I must watch it several more times, and not tonight as I must go to bed. I will come back when I have more coherent things to say.

I am intrigued to know what your 'what this vid is about' introduction might have said.

'Frey Made This' - Heh.

Thank you! Let me know what you think after another watch or two...

Courtney and I were talking about it as she beta'd the last draft, and I decided it could be described as a vid that subverts a song that subverts a Bible story. Hee.

Oh. Oh that's lovely. Will try to say more when my brain's not all bunged up with cold and ficcing-as-essay-avoidance. But that's just gorgeous.

The song kind of does fit weirdly well with IWTB, which is too bad, because the structure of my vid couldn't really encompass the story that far. But I hope you like!

Yes, though I initially picked it out for the earlier portion of my mix, to represent where I though Scully was in her relationship with Mulder at the beginning of the movie. I really like what you did with the video, though I think you have a different recording of the song than I do. Was it my imagination or did you slow/speed-up some of the footage? I made sure I was adjusted to 4:3 first.

If you don't mind, I'm going to c/p my rational for picking "Samson" for my mix... Feel free to ignore or passionately disagree as you've obviously thought long and hard about this yourself. :)

Samson
By Regina Spektor

This song is Scully’s view on Mulder before the beginning of the film. First, I like that it references Samson, a Biblical hero, because it fits well with Scully’s religious views and some of the themes of the movie. Samson was an incredibly strong man who the powers feared, but he gave the key to his undoing into the hands of a woman he loved. Does Scully every feel that she is keeping Mulder from his great destiny? The ( ... )
