Clay was still in his office and figured he'd be there for another five or so minutes as he finished his conference call. It lasted 10 minutes passed when he originally wanted to leave, so he quickly packed up his things and headed down to the parking lot.

Annie had opted to wait inside the building rather than outside, even though her coat probably would have kept her warm.

Talking quietly with the guards manning the security station, she was laughing at a joke one of them had told when she heard the elevator and turned to see Clay walking toward her. "That's my ride, guys. See you tomorrow."

As he approached, she smiled and said, "Hi, honey."

Pushing open the door and then holding it for him, she answered mildly. "It was a little hectic in the morning, but evened out to a steady tedium in the afternoon."

Annie slid her hand into his as they walked the short distance to his car and added, "You look tired. How was yours?"

Annie laughed out loud and, leaving him with the wine. "Thank you for holding my hair while I was sick, by the way."

Sitting at the table, she looked it over and shook her head. "I married the perfect man. James Bond outside of the house, Martha Steward inside."
