It made her smile and she thought again about everyone that worked with him knowing exactly how his morning went once he showed up in a fantastic mood. As she eased down on him, she bit her lip to avoid making any unladylike sounds, but her immense happiness showed on her face.

He wouldn't have minded the unladylike sounds but right now he just smiled back, "Love you, Annie."

"Love you, too."

After, she lay sprawled against his chest, trying to catch her breath. "You have no idea how tempting it is to just crawl back under the covers and pretend national security isn't an issue today."

"I don't have anywhere I need to be until after lunch," Clay said as he put his arms around his wife.

Annie smiled as she curled up against him even more and nuzzled into his neck. "If only all of us had cushy jobs at the top. I should probably make an appearance before ten and try to do something productive otherwise Joan's going to get upset."

"We'll go in together, car pool. Might even let you drive."

"Mmm," she hummed against his skin, her fingers trailing up his side. "You're in a very good mood."

Her touch got a chuckle out of him, "All your fault."

"Something I'm always more than happy to take credit for," she answered with no small amount of smugness.

Clay just shook his head slightly at Annie's smugness. "You're usually the cause of my good mood."

"Speaking of stroking my ego," she said around a yawn, which she covered by burying her face into his chest. "Make me get up now."

"Alright." He was quiet and didn't move for a second, then started to make his way out of bed.

"There's hot, fresh, coffee downstairs, just waiting for you."

The crushed look on her face was epic and she may have even clung to him as he tried to move.

"You could have put up a little bit of a fight," she said with a sigh as she moved, too. Realizing it was her own fault, she added with a smile to make sure he knew she wasn't truly angry at him, "Before ten didn't mean eight-thirty."

He laughed, "We can sit and have our coffee together on the couch, no running out the door."

As she pulled her dress for the day out of the closet, she shook her head. "No, I'll suck it up. Believe me, that'll make my entire day worth working through, believe me."

Laying the dress across the bed, she walked past him to pick up her more expensive necklace and earrings off the dresser. She rarely wore them to work, but today just felt like that kind of day. As she passed him again, she gave him a brief kiss.

"I'll even make dinner when we get home tonight."

She was feeling fancy, he was feeling generous.
