Dehydrators are very inexpensive and easy to use. I encourage you to find one, which shouldn't be hard. The one I had was a set of round plastic trays with vent holes in them. You put your fruit or veggies on them and stacked them. The bottom unit was the same size and provided the low heat necessary for dehydration. It can take one to three days to fully dehydrate a lot of veggies and fruit. You do have to rotate the trays, but that's no big deal. I used to buy huge bags of plum tomatoes and dehydrate them....then pack them in olive oil and herbs. I would have "sun dried" tomatoe s for a year with one effort, and I do love those!
