Self-confidence, or lack thereof...
I have always had a problem with self-confidence. Despite my intelligence, in any given endeavor I know that there is always someone better or more capable than me. Successes in my life have always come as a shock. I don't expect success.

I need to get out
There's a big interesting world out there. My transportation situation doesn't make it particularly feasible or convenient to experience much of it, though. I've been in full emotional retreat for the past several weeks and rarely leave the house except to work. That isn't good. That isn't healthy. Back to life, back to reality
Well, soon enough I'll be single again. My wife neverneverneverEVER changes her mind on matters like this, and so at some point in the foreseeable future I will be single. Ren Faires
I love Renaissance Faires. The first one I ever went to is the original, back in the early 70's. I didn't get to go very often, but it was always such an amazing immersive experience. Ultimately that Faire lost its original location to development and was moved into a big, flat city park. It just wasn't the same.

I am SO not going to Heaven...
...although it looks like I'd have a shot. There aren't many things on the following list that appeal to me, and here's why.. My main reason for not getting into Heaven would be my conviction that it simply doesn't exist. If you don't believe in something, they generally don't let you in. Am I asking for trouble?
I am not an atheist. I do not deny the existence of a god, or gods. I do, however take exception with those people who feel entitled to tell me about the true nature of God. I worry that I don't really have anything interesting or original to say, and even if I am regurgitating things that I have learned elsewhere, I feel I have an obligation to relate that information in a clever or creative way.
