I do love my best friend, but there are times when he really sets my teeth on edge. He's always been confident, but ever since he passed the bar exams (yep, he's a lawyer now) he's taken to calling himself the "beauty of the Philippines",which would have been funny if he didn't say it with such absolute conviction, lol

This is well beyond confidence (which is good) and into arrogance (which isn't). The first time a judge slaps him down, he'll be crushed.

He is very good at what he does, so I don't think that's very likely anyway.

I really love my best friend, and I don't want to hurt him, but sometimes he really pushes my buttons. Arrrrgh! Any suggestions?

Hugs! It's not easy accepting the faults of a good friend, but it's good to see that you have such a strong and resilient relationship. Do you suppose this is a phase for him that he might pass through? Just make sure you don't let this become a drain on you.
