they have been going after habeas corpus for a while now, and i think very recently bush tried to suspend it, citing that the the current terrorism uprise is enough of a reason to do so, but then i never really heard anything else about it. more and more it does seem like we very well may be living in an orwellian state. instead of any direct mind control, we're distracted by brad pitt and fucking angelina jolie and gah! anyway. damn the man, etc.
