Trying to stay awake

It's not so much that I'm tired, although I'm not sure I'm getting enough sleep, it's just mid-afternoon and I'm reading webpages about IRB procedures, waivers, etc. and taking short quizes to get CITI certified so I can be listed as key personel on an IRB request for stuff that is all exempt anyway! The fun PI quizzes! psychowoof April 18 2006, 20:00:46 UTC
Ah, those quizzes! Haven't had to deal with those since my last years at SUNY!

Have they improved the "cheating" feature yet? When I took them, if you opened two windows of the documents in your browser, you could flip back and forth between the quiz and the text without the system knowing. (Nah, I'd never do that - not like I really had to!)

Haven't fixed that, and, despite a required 80% right level of acheivement, you can double back and take the quiz again and just over right the old score.

Even better, the quiz is the same questions, just in a different order and with the multiple choice answers in a different order.

I've gone back a couple times just to perfect my score, not because I was below 80% and once because I got 3 out of 4 correct. Sigh.

Yeah, we thought it was kinda silly at SUNY. We had trouble grapsing the fact that there were grad students who failed the thing and ended up with their labs temporarily shut down. (SUNY required that all PIs be certified and that 75% of investigators in the lab be certified - this even included undergrads who were working on projects as research assistants.)
