So happy for you. Got my Pfizer shots last month, and the sense of reluef was palpable. Like you, i lucked into appointments that werent too far ahead. Glad you had no bad reaction!
Yes, isn't it just great not to live in fear anymore of catching the big bad C? For me it will still take some time, my second shot will be in May because with the AstraZeneca vaccine they say, the longer you wait between shots, the better your protection. But the doctor said that 2 weeks after the first shot it will already be pretty good.
I'm happy you got your jab today. I am the lead for our vaccine clinic and can due up to 600 in our day. I was happy to get both of mine by the beginning of Feb and had only a blah feeling both times for a day. Hope if you do get a problem that's all it is. We have three types now (johnson just started this week). And there is very few problems according to those I talk to later but we also have the scheduling problem, although it was getting better. They just opened it this coming Monday for those with severe problems but the people don't have to prove they have the problem (I can see so much cheating going on). Well hope you do well. Pat
Thank you! No side effects so far, I hope it stays that way.
You know, it is very interesting to get an insight into the US vaccination system from someone who actually works in it. Here in Germany people are complaining that it's all going so slowly. Then on the evening news we get to see pictures of Americans just driving to their nearest supermarket parking lot where they get their shots while sitting in their cars. And people become understandably envious. But from what you say it's not that easy at all. (And I didn't think it was.)
Yes, we have those who try to jump the queue here as well. VIPs who "just happen to be around" when there are "vaccine leftovers" at the vaccination centre...
But those with a severe condition have to get an attestation from their doctor, which I did. Not having to prove it will indeed result in a lot of cheating. :-(
We will start with those who have medical problems, but people don't need to prove it to get it. I can see those who want to jump ahead lying to get it. What I find enjoyable, is the older people who thank you and bless you for doing the job. It's enjoyable to see how happy people are once they get Number 1 and we sign them up for a definite date for number 2.
Great news! And with any luck there will be no side effects. I just had my second shot of the Pfizer vaccine and only had a couple of hours of fatigue and foggy brain.
Keeping my fingers crossed that your husband will be able to get his soon.

Strange times we're living in, where a serious disease turns into an advantage... :-(
I just hope that when more of the vaccines becomes available things will speed up.

Hope you continue to do well with the shot.
