i'm not all that much of a "don't cross the streams" guy when it comes to putting multiple kinds of food on the same plate, it doesn't really bother me at all. but i very much am a guy who likes his salad in a separate bowl, especially when it's covered in a oily dressing that's likely to run

Oddly, I really *love* that particular combination. (Well, Italian dressing, not Caesar, but that mix of flavors was a big part of my childhood and family holidays in general.)
