I still wasn't feeling that great (and still had a fever) on the night we were supposed to go to Oman, so we rescheduled the flights for the next day, and pushed our return flights back a day as well.

It's a souq, not a souk!So after posting yesterday, we went to the souq (or market). I wasn't feeling that great, and I was quite cold. Qatar is surprisingly cold in winter. A summer jaunt to Qatar - part 1
So I flew up from Wellington to Auckland last night (thanks to rincewindtvd for giving me a ride and keeping me company at the airport, oh and for losing in a foot race, hahahaha) then left NZ at pretty much midnight.

I've had a fantastic weekend...
...but I am so very tired right now.
Did the Tongariro Crossing this weekend.
Friday: Drove down. Slept in vans. 6 people in 2 vans. Mmm, cosy.
Saturday: Walked from Mangatepopo roadend to Ketetahi hut. However, we went up Ngauruhoe as a side trip as well. That was so much more difficult than I had anticipated. Good fun and fantastic views though ( Read more... ) -
Tongariro Crossing
So I'm planning to do the Tongariro Crossing this weekend and I just suddenly realised that there's no reason I can't invite my Wellington friends, as it's actually as close if not closer!

So my flatmate Craig and I sent a question in to the ONE News YouTube debate that's on tonight at 7pm between John Key and Helen Clark.
The idea is that people film themselves asking a question, upload it to YouTube, the public votes on it and then the most popular ones are shown during the debate for the leaders to answer.
