Today, I finally got to connect the computer to my tv via HDMI. Could've done that before, but alas - when I thought a 2m cable would be enough - it obviously wasn't. So back to Amazon it went and I ordered a 3m one. Which got here yesterday.

Now see this sounds like something I've been trying to figure out, how to connect our tv to the computer so we can watch movies. I just haven't figured it out yet.

Well, it all depends on what kind of computer and what kind of graphic card you got.

Does it have an HDMI output thingy?

We paid extra for the kick ass graphics card, it can even run bluray, and I managed to connect the tv and computer together but all I managed to produce was showing the screensaver and the desktop on the tv. But yeah they both have the HDMI thingie.

And we're running on W7 too if that makes a difference.

But if you can see the desktop on your tv - then you can see the rest too?

Best way to do that is to just... drag the browser window or media player window over onto the other screen. Beware: Your tv might be to your right of your computer, but you might still have to drag the window to the left.

Then it should be on the tv and you can just use full screen...
