I've seen bits of it, but I don't get BBCAmerica or anything. I haven't seen enough to really enjoy it. But the two definitely have different tones and appeal to different people.

I, actually, haven't seen the US version. I caught the first episode I'd ever seen on an in-flight from US to London. A year later I invested in the box set and I certainly have not regretted that rather expensive decision. Sixty bucks, I think?

I'll have to wait until I'm employed to make such a purchase. Maybe PBS will pick up an episode or two. They finally brought back Monty Python. We just need Reggie Perrin back...now, that is a great show.
