Okay, so I tried reading a bit of Twilight the other day, because I hate that book and everything it stands for, and I didn't want to be one of those assholes who despises a book without having read it. I tried. I really did. I used to get so pissed off at the people who were all "HARRY POTTER IS EVIL ZOMG" without having read it, and I didn't want to be one of them now, but I just...couldn't help it. It BURNS, it's so painful--I seriously have embarrassment squick for Stephenie Meyer, because no matter what else she writes she will always be associated with this crap.

I'm not surprised Lia wound up not wanting to read it. It really is boring as all hell, even without all the creepy dynamics (which I never would have gotten from just reading it, because of the total lack of ANYTHING happening). Someone gave it to Katie for a present and she couldn't get past the first chapter, either.

I made up for it tho- I bought the girl Chibi Vampire the Manga series through book 6 here last night.

At least that one has interesting pictures and is supposed to be Dumb.

I got a few chapters in (one chapter a night, always with a friend to snark it with, and never sober) and had to stop. Edward was giving me flashbacks to a very, very bad relationship I was in, plus the writing itself was pretty bad and infuriating. I'm forgiving of all sorts of sins as long as I'm enjoying the story, and I just. Couldn't. Do it with this one.

But woot costumes and corsets!

He's so weird and abusive, I don't know why more people don't see it. Stalking is not romantic, kthxbai, yet all these little teenage girls are eating it up and thinking that's what a relationship is supposed to be like. In five or ten years I think we're going to hear about a shitload of domestic violence cases.
