patchwork posting

I'm working, honest I am! This is just a quick break!

Actually I'm going to do what all humanities students (that I know of) eventually do when deadlines press too hard -- plagiarize him/herself. So this post doesn't contain any recent news. Instead, it is a concatenation of accumulated dribs and drabs that probably make little sense either together ( Read more... )

1. I live in your fantasy uniform universe! Some parts of it are cool- for the past 1/2 month, I don't have to think about my wardrobe, I just put scrubs on since I'm doing cardiac catheterizations. They fit your requirement of being non-hideous, never requires ironing, and they don't itch. Unfortunately, I live all the time with my other uniform- the white coat. I hate the white coat. They prevent you from wearing jackets or cardigens gracefully. They always get dirty an the dirtiness is very hard to hide (my white coat often looks like they have been through the atomic war). They look better on man- I say it's discriminiation against female physicians.
2. I would have a nervous breakdown if mom had married a clean person :) My apartment hasnt' been cleaned in 30 weeks or something like that.
3. I am avoiding work....

Right on, coz! If my mom hadn't bust in while I was at work on Saturday and straightened up in a fit of pique, my room would be giving your apartment a run for its squalor.

My "uniform fantasy" is that the very concept of "fashion" will become obsolete, and people can dress however they want to dress without any social repercussions. Go to work in gogo boots and a WWII military jacket. Have drinks with your friends at the bar in pajama pants and a bathrobe. Be served by a bartender in overalls. Whatever.

I want complete dissolution of the concept of clothing and accessories as status markers. Because it doesn't matter if you're wearing a Ralph Lauren polo or a Target-brand polo, you're still a douche if you pop your collar.

I do wish that America were more like Taiwan, so that going to pick up the mail in pjs (in an apartment building) is more acceptable...

Can I request a fic? I'm always happy to prod. :)

And I was a witch, too! I didn't want to post it, because I was like, "None of the cool kids are witches," but it turns out not to be the case. *g*

Oh you are SUCH a cool kid!

And absolutely! I'm actually kind of 0_o that no one else has requested a fic yet. Maybe my entry was too long -- but I put the "free fic" cut first!

*rubs hands excitedly in EVOL way in anticipation of your prodding*

I was the same way. I'd expected more than five takers, but I think people are wary, since they know I have so much to do. But I like writing!

Hmm...how about Spike and Buffy and Faith? Doing something normal together. I don't see that very often.

"Something normal..." hmm...*taps finger against chin*

Absolutely! I think I've got a fun idea! Thanks for prompting -- I do better under friendly expectations :) .

Hehe. Glad you're there to catch the joke ;) .

How's the Parisian life? Eaten anything exciting lately?

I just made oxtail stew. AS and I are very happy.

Sorry, you've got the wrong joke catcher. Think a little closer to home.
