Rain

makes me lose all my motivation. I've got piles of work, I want to write fic, I have to clean up so there's place for my son to sleep when he comes home. I've gotten too used to having this house to myself. Or I could just think some more about the Fleet's underground economy.

Interesting--I've got an unexpected houseguest right now, and the effect is much the same. Having another person in the house really does make it difficult to concentrate.

I used to live for people coming home and filling the place up, but now... I love having them, but love them going just as much. Which is, in truth, a good thing, since they're all working toward the stage of finally moving out.

Lucky you don't live here then. All that will be happening soon is rain. LOL. Don't worry - you'll hear me complaining about it. Especially if I get flooded in.

On a purely intellectual plane, the rain is a good thing. I hate the 'drought tax' on water, even though I get a high enough allotment to never pay it, and I hate all the ads, all the time for the past several years, about our drought situation. But rain always depresses me.

Now, if every time it rained I saw Laura Roslin standing in it, I might change my mind.

Where my mum lives they have hardly any water left and have been on restrictions for about 5 years now. Luckily, or unluckily, I live in the tropics so if we never had a wet season there would be some serious issues with the weather.

And, yes. Laura in the rain is win.

And I'm looking forward to the fic that will talk about the fleet's economy btw. LOL.

It's on my to-do list (that new fic by tjonesy and icedteainthebag is making me think hard), but I doubt I'll have time to write the rest of this week; a lot of planning for my son's wedding is going on tomorrow and Friday. (Custom tailored clothing FTW, though I covet the Opera House outfit so hard; it would be a perfect mother of the groom look.)

I don't know about you, but just one noise, or severe banging on doors, can put you off your stride. *hugs*

Exactly. And between the rain, the kids coming home and pulling me out of my routine, on and off internet... my brain has fried.
