Rain

makes me lose all my motivation. I've got piles of work, I want to write fic, I have to clean up so there's place for my son to sleep when he comes home. I've gotten too used to having this house to myself. Or I could just think some more about the Fleet's underground economy.

Lucky you don't live here then. All that will be happening soon is rain. LOL. Don't worry - you'll hear me complaining about it. Especially if I get flooded in.

On a purely intellectual plane, the rain is a good thing. I hate the 'drought tax' on water, even though I get a high enough allotment to never pay it, and I hate all the ads, all the time for the past several years, about our drought situation. But rain always depresses me.

Now, if every time it rained I saw Laura Roslin standing in it, I might change my mind.

Where my mum lives they have hardly any water left and have been on restrictions for about 5 years now. Luckily, or unluckily, I live in the tropics so if we never had a wet season there would be some serious issues with the weather.

And, yes. Laura in the rain is win.

And I'm looking forward to the fic that will talk about the fleet's economy btw. LOL.

It's on my to-do list (that new fic by tjonesy and icedteainthebag is making me think hard), but I doubt I'll have time to write the rest of this week; a lot of planning for my son's wedding is going on tomorrow and Friday. (Custom tailored clothing FTW, though I covet the Opera House outfit so hard; it would be a perfect mother of the groom look.)

Ha! Fancy letting real life get in the way of a fanfic. It's only your son's wedding, after all. LOL. Good luck. Weddings are stressful times.

And I wouldn't even dare to live up to anything that icedtea or tj write. They are too good. Have you read any of their older stuff? Icedtea's bsg_bigbang story is wonderful.

Weddings are stressful, but fanfic plotting is a very good escape hatch.

I'm going to have to check out that story -- so far your recommendations have been spot on. Thanks!

Here is a journal entry where I crap on about my fav authors. There are heaps of others though. Mostly on my f/list. That's probably why I friended them. And lol at your new icon.

Thank you. When I have the house back to myself, I will start working through the list.

And the icon -- it needed making, so I cobbled one together. Thank G-d for young EJO and Speedos, because none of the uniformed package pics were quite right. (And what a chore it was, looking through all of *those*. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.)

TJ posted a photo of him lying on the CIC table after being shot in Kobol's Last Gleaming 2 one time. It showed his military asset sticking up in a very prominent position. Made me laugh. I said I don't think they could possibly have been thinking we would be staring at the thing when they filmed that angstsy near death scene. LOL.

That was the first picture I tried using, but when I just couldn't get it to fit into 100x100. And any person affiliated with any bit of mass culture who hasn't figured out Rule 34 deserves what they get. It's always about the porn.
