So it's summer now, and all of my old senior friends have graduated and prepared for the next stage in their life. It's going to be strange not seeing them next year. I guess it's just hitting me now because I just went to a grad. "party" and said my goodbyes to one of them ( Read more... )

I know how you feel. My parents were immigrants from Taiwan and during my younger days I was struggling to learn English as well as maintain my Mandarin. Unfortunately, somewhere along the way, after being made fun of for being Asian, I decided being "American" was the way to go, and I stopped speaking Chinese completely... now, my Mandarin is pretty half-assed, even though I can still understand it very well. Thanks. I'll probably take you up on your offer once school starts.

The problem that my parents and I have is that they do not want me to grow up and leave while I cant wait to move out. I guess I'm kind of contradicting myself with the "I don't think I'm ready to grow up" thing, but living at my house with my family would have anyone wanting to move out. It's sad but true.

Having such good friends in High school is great, but i have now just begun to realize how much more it's going to hurt to say goodbye to them. But I guess you're right, we have to put forth the effort if we're going to keep in touch. I'm just happy I still have one more year with them. =]
