One Step Closer

I went down to Forest Park CC admissions to see if I could reapply to get in (I previously applied back in 2K2...then I got suckered into going to Job Corps. by the damn parents). Luckily for me, I was still in their system, so no need to go through a lot of talking and computer ( Read more... )

what exactly did Job Corps set out to (at least supposedly) do with you? what was the purpose of it, and etc?

When I entered Job Corps., they allowed me to go into whatever field I wanted to, and I tried to go into the most advanced field they had, but even that wasn't advanced enough. I don't consider railroad work advanced enough because that's the field I went into (it was called Transportation/Communication Union, or TCU for short). I got placed in one job that only lasted fr a month, and when I came back to Job Corps., pretty much nothing else landed me anywhere and I was going nowhere fast. So at that point, I got sick of being in the program and went looking for work anywhere I could find, and ultimately I landed at the Target I work at now, and stayed there until I could get into trucking. Pretty much you know the rest from there.

Very much thanks, Milady! Oh, I finally figured out what you meant by MS on that one comment. It had to have meant "Mobile Suit". That's the only initials I know of that involves mechs.

In the end, you're the one that has to make the decision. Your dad's life, as it stands now, should be proof enough of the decisions he has made in all aspects of his life. I'm sure he means well, but, in essence, he will only repeat to you the things that he has done.
