Today I just took one step closer to getting myself into college. I went down to Forest Park CC admissions to see if I could reapply to get in (I previously applied back in 2K2...then I got suckered into going to Job Corps. by the damn parents). Luckily for me, I was still in their system, so no need to go through a lot of talking and computer work. One thing I did do though was change the major that I previously had in there, which was the Certificate of Proficiency in Multimedia to Associates Degree in Communication Arts with the Multimedia option. That should at least break me into the Digital Animation field which I want to take up at Webster University or wherever (it probably will be at Webster University because I figure if I stay in state, I might save a bunch on college funds). Registration for summer classes doesn't begin until April 19th, so I have a whole month to think about what I want to take up during the summer semester and to get my FAFSA restarted. So, yeah. It's a small step, but one I had to take to get some of the things out of the way. At least I have some time to think about what I want to do. Oh, and my dad found out about what I was intending on doing (that is wanting to take up classes at FPCC) and he's actually cool with it. He didn't ask me "well why don't you get a job with the City" or anything like that. For once, he's butting out of my personal life and letting me do what I wanted to (originally) do and I'm going to make sure that he does not interfere with my plans. He's already screwed LaRonn out of returning to SEMO, and I'm not letting him do that to me. I've waited a long time to get myself into college and get a better life and education for myself, and I won't let him or anyone else for that matter stand in my way. I refuse to let myself rot in this desolate wasteland called St. Louis, MO, a place I'm forced to call home. This is my time, and I'm taking it by the horns!
