Good-bye Weekend

So, the dance workshop went really well. We didn't actually get time for the little routine I had prepared for them, since it turned out to be a morning only thing rather than all day. So we just did more across the floor stuff working on the basics - progress was made, I think, despite more complaining than was helpful from one of the former ( Read more... )

I recommend re-reading 6th before the you read the 7th. They are supposed to flow together more than any of the others.

Egad! Four year olds! I wouldn't know what to do with them that young. Well done for adapting so well.

Love the smooth bargaining. V impressed that you managed to get raayat to see HP. I think Transformers may actually be okay. I remember Optimus Prime but who's the main baddie? Deceptorcon? I used to watch the cartoon.

I think you'll be okay reading the last book on its own especially in light of your endangered Me Read time.

Well, I used to teach a class just 4-6 year olds. The difficulty is getting and holding their attention as a group while actually teaching them something. I pretty much settle for them doing something that looks vaguely the same while moving in the same-ish direction.

The hardest part was the mixed ages and keeping both the 14-18 year olds engaged and challenged while still getting something across to the itty-bitties. I think had I known that was in the cards I would have put a lower age limit on or at least suggested that they go from 10-12 and then have the older ones from 12:30 to 3:00 or something. How in the WORLD they expected me to manage that on my own when they usually have at least two different teachers for those sessions is beyond me. I was unimpressed.

Oh wow, I totally didn't mean that to turn into a rant! Hadn't realised that I was still so worked up about it. . .

One class of 4-18 year olds? Goodness, I'd be fuming. Seems rather unfair/unreasonable. Will this be a weekly thing?

something that looks vaguely the same while moving in the same-ish direction -- shaking with laughter! Such images in my mind right now. Bless the wee ones.

No no no no no no no no =) The workshop was a one-off, but I may do another later in the summer time now that I have a more full idea of their abilities.

The idea is that I'm going to be sort of the dance/movement specialist for two different guards and will be going down to help them twice a month on a Saturday in the fall.

Gads. And I thought Sunday dinner was bad! 2/5ths of sentences, etc.
