Yes, it is such a fucking TRIAL to read your bits of fic. I don't even know why I put up with you, tbfh.

WHERE THE WILD THINGS ARE needs to be posted. It can be a Chapter 1 WIP whatever, and you can put in the notes that you don't know when or if any other chapters will actually be posted, but you were made to understand that this particular piece of genius was not allowed to be lost forever to the "things I intend to finish" backlog.

Funnily enough, Warren Ellis (a comics writer you *must* know) called superhero comics soap operas.

"Swap out the love scenes for punching each other and you're on your way."

I think the notion that superhero comics are soap opera is pretty universally recognized (also professional wrestling). If you read the wikipedia backstory on any given character, assuming they're reasonably old (15 or more years old), the ludicrous twists and turns and secret evil twins and amnesia car crashes and people coming back from the dead and shocking paternity test results and whatnot are exactly like soap opera plots. It's particularly pronounced in the comics featuring younger characters. Claremont's X-Men, Teen Titans, Young Justice, Runaways, Young Avengers, all soapy as hell.
