television (your story's not congruent)

I was worried that with all the new TV last night, I would run out of time to LJ about Grey's (I totally almost used the verb "blog" there, but somehow that feels pretentious, whereas "LJ" feels appropriately self-deprecating), but thank godfully that didn't happen ( Read more... )

tv: brothers & sisters, tv: heroes, tv: how i met your mother, tv: the class, tv: studio 60

Personally, I'm skeeved that AS is basically basing Harriet on his ex-girlfriend who dumped him or something. And then, where his real ex actually posed for Maxim or GQ or whatever, Harriet decided not to because it's "beneath" her.

Granted, I heard all this third-hand, because it took me an episode and a half to realize I'd be too pissed off all the time to enjoy the show. But if it's true, that's just... ick.

Oh, that's true too. I'm not even that big a Kristin Chenowith fan, and it still skeeves me out HUGELY.

I wonder if Harriet will ever leave the show to appear in Wicked.

It's not only true, it's so true that he actually had to ask Kristen for permission to base Harriet so closely on her, and she confirmed that she gave him that permission in a NYT profile that is prolly not free now (it was published about two months ago). And she did pose I think in FHM, and she has also (I believe on Letterman) distanced herself from the somewhat homophobic things that Harriet has said in the show, because Kristen as a B'way diva knows who her fanbase is. So yeah, that makes the entire Matt-Harriet thing gross and unsettling.

And now he's made Danny-Jordan gross and unsettling, and I'm just waiting for him to make Tom-Lucy unsettling as well. What the hell, Aaron. Clearly obsession and love are all tied up together in his head.

I almost posted in my writeup that when Barney was saying he had a five-year plan for the painting I totally remembered slap bet and hoped that would get worked in there.

Am surprised you didn't know about swarley.com before (Barney's Blog).

Man, I would have killed for the slap bet to just show up. Would have been HILARIOUS.

You know, periodically someone links me to Barney's blog. And it's hilarious and I remember it for... maybe two or three days. And then I forget. And then it gets linked again and it's still legen(wait for it)dary.

Wheee!

Complaining about Studio 60 has been among my favorite pasttimes in the last 6 months.

After last night's episode I feel like I might just stop watching because it seems to be headed far away from behind-the-scenes dramady.

What shall I complain about now!?!?!?!?

Normally S60 is the kind of passing thing that I bitch about in AIM for 20 minutes and I'm good. Right now it's the kind of thing where it was actually the first thing I thought of upon hitting my keyboard this fine morning.

Mmm, all-consuming rage.

Tee hee. Welcome to the bandwagon!

I did love the Jordan/Head of Alternative clash. That was fun to watch Jordan take her medicine. The whore.

Oh, see, I didn't. That wasn't Women in Power Have an Argument. That was Aaron Sorkin's Fantasy Chick Fight. It made me uncomfortable on an insanely huge level, and even people's reactions to it seem to be gendered rather than about the actual content.

Brothers and Sisters surprised me by making me like it. It's such an awesome fun show! Between that and Boston Legal, I have my happy fun wacky comedy hours all set for each week.

Dude, me too. I never in a million years would have thought I'd fall for this show as much as I have.

But I love all of them SO MUCH. I have a bunch of episodes sitting on the TiVo and I'm thinking I may just marathon them for glee.

(I kind of feel like B&S and Grey's would make a really good team. On any night. They fit together well.)

(Boston Legal I still adore, but it is perfect where it is. Or maybe it could be paired up with Murphy Brown!)

Oh, TV. You are sometimes so giving!

B&S has quite literally become the show I look most forward to watching every week. It is beyond awesome.

I feel like I need an icon along the lines of "I'm a Charlotte" from when Sex and the City was all that jazz with "I'm a Kevin".

In fact I think that's going to be something I try and do whenever I get a chance to DL some screencaps.

I THINK that they're all Barney-creations, not other character-creations. Which is a nice touch. I love that the entire thing is in character.

Oh BARNEY.
