television (your story's not congruent)

I was worried that with all the new TV last night, I would run out of time to LJ about Grey's (I totally almost used the verb "blog" there, but somehow that feels pretentious, whereas "LJ" feels appropriately self-deprecating), but thank godfully that didn't happen ( Read more... )

I love Brothers and Sisters. Like, a lot. I just started watching this Christmas and just busted through all of the episodes in like a week. I love Kevin so much! I didn't catch this past week's episode. Hopefully I can snag a download soon!

You know ABC.com has the series streaming, right? (here)

I LOVE THE SHOW SO MUCH IT HURTS A LITTLE.

BUT IN THE GOOD WAY.

I do know that ABC is streaming the episodes, but since I'm in Canada, I can't access them. :( Woe.

But yes, it is totally awesome. But that's totally expected for me, because it's Greg Berlanti and I love him.

...more that they loved your characters and the love of what they did...

Hi, just popping in to say yes, yes, that is exactly it. Yes. (On one level I feel like I'm not qualified to say that, but on another, I've never seen Sports Night, and I feel like I already love all of the characters just because fandom has loved them so hard and so long that it's contagious.) Why do people who create fun things always have such bizarre takes on what makes those things good?

Aw, yay. Glad it's not just me, then, on this one.

I've never seen TWW, so I feel entirely capable. People's love for the characters there (which I read about on LJ despite not watching) was related to their jobs only so much as these characters adored their jobs, or were frustrated with their jobs, etc. I would like to see more of that from S60, because for me that's where the characters really get a chance to shine.

I can't tell you how happy I am that someone else loves Brothers & Sisters too.

Justin is my favorite. I love him so much. :D

Dude, everyone's kind of shyly coming out of the woodwork. It's awesome.

Actor Who Plays Justin is, IIRC, Actor Who Hooked Up With Kate Walsh Post-Globes. So if he was hot to begin with? Now he also carries, like, MEGAhotness points.

Plus he can act. It's weird. I don't really know what to do with it, my own self.

Dave hooked up with Kate Walsh? Damn, what a stud!

And yeah, I must say that I've been surprised by his acting ability. I first saw him on Reunion and I thought he did a decent job (I mean, that show wasn't exactly meant to be a showcase for subtle acting), but he has really impressed me on Brothers & Sisters.

The good thing about Calista's character is that the rest of the family spends a good deal of time telling her she's wrong. And Sally Field's character is way at the other end of the spectrum. And rocks my world.

I don't know. I think you're right, about the strength of the show making it okay. SN was kind of sexist too, but it was buried because the show's primary focus was on relationships that weren't romantic or trying to be. Now... dude, no. Just no.

Give B&S a try! It is completely charming and Kitty's Republicanism is a lot less grating than I expected at first.

Rob Lowe made me like Calista Flockhart. It's kerr-azy, but Kitty has really really grown on me.

Also, nobody is writing me Nora and Saul brother-sister-type gen fic. I feel that this is a Serious Issue.

(1) Man, that is an awesome icon.

(2) I am creeped out by how much I heart Kitty.

(3) I wish I had a better voice for this show- or, say, one at all- because I'd really like to write that kind of fic. I think the universe needs it.
