They were showing some footage of these 20 ft. flames and a firefighter squirting the fire with what appeared to be... a garden hose. Of course, two things immediately came to mind:

A surreal day
Yesterday was a pretty surreal day at work.
I found out that the guy that sits at the desk behind ours recently came over to England from Ft. Meade, Maryland... and that we were in the same unit (well, he DID look familiar). Canine power
So, I fed the dogs this evening, and they literally inhaled their food. Allie finished her dinner in a record 35 seconds. I am thoroughly convinced that there is some commercial viability to this that I'm missing out on. Perhaps an endorsement deal from Dyson or Hoover. Simon took a bit longer to finish his dinner. All is right again with the world
They FINALLY fixed the heat at work. The reason we didn't have any heat was because it was time for the semi-annual hot water flush in the building, ergo, no f***ing heat. I didn't think it was possible to be completely freezing and sweltering hot at the same time, but thanks to our portable space heaters, which are just big enough to heat part ( Read more... ) -
Day one... still not impressed
Day one (or more accurately, night one) is over. Thirteen hours of mostly excruciating boredom, interrupted only by the occasional bathroom break due to excessive tea consumption (five cups last night... woohoo).
