Well, we didn't ignore him, as such. We kept saying "Who's that?" and "Why does he have such a weird face?" I'm sure that helped. (Note that his face is no longer weird. Grrr.)

Well, he was a total afterthought in Spain, Portugal, and Italy. The poor lad shows up expecting to be celebrated and used to appearing in promo videos for big matches and ... crickets. No wonder he looked so odd and lost.
