We have the winner of our first cosplay contest! All of the entrants were excellent and it was really tough choosing a winner, let me tell you! But we had to narrow it down to one. The winner is Ms. Taymeho! She did a superb cosplay of Kuroshitsuji's Ciel. It really was a lovely creation!

A horrible shock to the anime world: Satoshi Kon has passed away. He was only 47! He gave us such great movies as Perfect Blue, Millieunum Actress and Paprika. I, for one, will sorely miss him. He was one of the great storytellers.

I went to my first Comiket after six years in Japan ^_^; For those of you not in the know, Comiket is a huge convention to sell doujinshi. A lot of famous manga writers also show up and sell doujinshi of works they couldn't get picked up by companies or are extras of published works that were cut or not allowed by the publishers. A very small theme park in Tokyo has been having anime festivals every month. Last month it was Gintama and this month it's Naruto. They are way more fun than they should be and it warms my heart that there are just as many non-parent adults there as there are kids ( Read more... )New Reviews Up!
