You can tell by the way she FLIES OVER FROM THE OTHER SIDE OF THE SKY to say hello, much to the comical chagrin of her rider. At least, "hello" is probably what those adorable squeaky fish-sounds mean, more or less. ]

Appa's a Sky Bison. My people learned airending from the sky bisons. Appa and I picked each other out as kids.

[Aang is encouraging Appa to land but Appa isn't digging all of the flowers and such on the ground. Sure, flowers smell nice but there are so many of them!

Then a couple of those chocolate smelling flowers fall on Toph. An idea comes to the mighty bison's head; how to taste deliciousness and not have to land all at the same time.]
