The 2015 MTV Movie Awards
Held April 12, at Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles
Hosted by Amy Schumer
Winners & Nominees
Shailene Woodley, 23, beat out four other former child/young actresses (Scarlett Johansson,
Jennifer Lawrence,
Emma Stone, and Reese Witherspoon) to win Best Female Performance and Best Kiss with Ansel Elgort for The Fault in Our Stars. She was also given this year's Trailblazer Award, which has been presented since 2012 to young actors with a diverse body of work.
Former child actress Scarlett Johansson, now 30, presented and was nominated for Best Female Performance for Lucy and Best Kiss with Chris Evans in Captain America: The Winter Soldier.
Presenters & Attendees
Willow Shields, 14, attended to support her movie The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1 (premiere
here and review
here), which was nominated for Movie of the Year but lost to The Fault in Our Stars. Mockingjay did win Best Musical Moment for Jennifer Lawrence's song "The Hanging Tree." Willow is aging well - if she only she would stop dressing in such terrible outfits. Her face here strikes me as a cross between Olivia Hussey and Kate Winslet.
Young actress/singer Bea Miller, 16
Bella Thone, 16 is always promoting something. At these awards, she introduced new footage from her upcoming Scream, a TV series based on the 1996
Drew Barrymore movie, set to premiere on MTV on June 30.
Stefanie Scott, 18, has been making a lot of public appearances lately to promote her upcoming horror movie
Insidious: Chapter 3, set for release in June, where she has the lead role as a teen targeted by a dangerous supernatural entity.
Hailee Steinfeld, 18, attended to promote her upcoming
Pitch Perfect 2, scheduled for release next month.
Laura Marano, 19, fresh from her sweep at the
Kids Choice Awards last month, attended together with her sister Vanessa, 22.
Katherine McNamara, 19
Kiersey Clemons, 21
Victoria Justice, 22, was asked by ET on the red carpet if she would want to work with
Ariana Grande, 21, again. (They starred together on their Nickelodeon sitcom Victorious from 2010-2013.) Victoria responded: "I think we're kind of both on our own separate paths right now. I've been more focused on acting and she's doing her singing thing."
