The simple things in life.
The ‘good mornings’ from your loved ones once you wake up.
The goodbye kiss from your other half when they leave for work.
The warmth of your embrace when they’re feeling down.
The essence of your company.
Love.
Yes, people take those for granted.
But eventually they find the time to make up for their occasional error.
However you. You have forgotten completely.
Do you know what’s important?
You’re out there having fun, chasing your fame and fortune.
While the only time he sees and hears you is on the television, the radio or on your bed fast asleep...snoring.
Is this what love’s supposed to be?
But you wouldn’t know would you? You wouldn’t know if it smacked you in the face.
You’re chasing a dime, losing a treasure.
He talks, you listen. You talk, he listens.
That’s how’s it’s supposed to be.
You? You hear him talking, but you don’t know what he’s saying.
They say money can’t buy you love.
It’s true. It can’t.
But you never seem to listen.
I’m all ears.
You get him all the things money can buy, thinking it will keep him happy and satisfied till the next time you disappear.
Thinking he will always welcome you with an affectionate smile when you open the door.
But do you know how he’s truly feeling?
It’s cold and it’s getting colder as the days, weeks, months goes by.
What the use of all your money when you use it so inappropriately, he doesn’t need it.
How much longer do you think he can keep this act up for? He wants to love you the way he always had since the beginning, his ‘I love yous’ are now just familiar words that come out as a routine, he’s unsure if the meaning’s the same as it was. If it’ll ever be the same.
You have no idea though.
Because you can never find the time to spend at home.
Time is all he wanted all along, with you. Just the two of you. It was all he ever wanted.
But you’re out there with the people you call ‘friends’ oblivious of what lies ahead, while he’s the sitting alone in a empty room, waiting and praying that you’ll come home.
It’s only a matter of time.
Time is what I can give him. I have all the time in the world for him.
Why do you have to make it so complicated? It’s easy.
It’s right in front of your face.
