“Oppa!”

“Liyin-ah!”

Liyin gives her brother a warm hug of both love and appreciation which brightens Junsu’s day instantly.

She looked up to her older brother, everything he had achieved, every decision he made, Liyin backed all the way whether she agreed or not. The relationship they had was something everyone envied; they were two peas out of a pod. Junsu would do anything to keep her sister happy and satisfied and giving her the wedding she always wanted was one thing he was proud to be part of.

Following behind Liyin was their older sister who was hauling along two less enthusiastic men.

“Honey, why did you have to drag here?” Hankyung moaned.

“Do you think I want to ‘drag’ you here knowing you were going to be like this” Yeonhee retorted as her boyfriend clicked his tongue. “You could look like you’re happy to be here”

“Well I’m obviously not”

“At least try for my sister, please?”

“Whatever.”

“Shall we start guys?” Liyin suggested.

“Looks like someone’s missing” Yoochun whispered.

Liyin glanced over to Junsu who was alternating his eyes from the window to his phone, from his phone to his watch.

Approaching her younger brother, Yeonhee caught Junsu weary eyes, he knew what she was about to say.

“He’s coming, he said he would.”

“Okay, did he say what time?”

“I told him four...”

“Well it’s still early we’ll wait” her sister assured him, as much as she wanted to shake some sense into her brother for still being with Yunho in the first place let alone still believing a word he said, she knew she would be wasting her time. Nothing was going to drag Junsu away from him at this moment in time.

‘4.45pm’

“Looks like the fucking punk’s not coming” Hankyung stated breaking the silence amongst everyone.

“Shut up!” Yeonhee whispered through gritted teeth, giving her boyfriend a gentle blow over the head.

Jaejoong who since arriving had kept quiet, his mind was clearly elsewhere, dreading the potential embarrassment that would occur in the next few hours. Hankyung’s outburst woke him up back to the reality of the sombre atmosphere.

“Junsu, are you alright?” Jaejoong whispered as he stood beside the younger man by the window watching the people beneath them walking by.

“Yeah” Junsu smiled, the quiver in his voice and the look in his eyes told Jaejoong otherwise. The smile was so forced and Jaejoong didn’t know what to do to make it better. “Sorry everyone, we’ll start now.”

“5, 6, 7, 8”

After reiterating the steps that they had previously learnt with their dance teacher, Junsu guided them through to perfection.

“Remember men lead, I’ll be guiding the men so Unnie and Liyin, do the opposite.”

Whilst he carefully instructs each couple, walking around observing each step, his eyes would constantly switch over to the door. Every sound, every flutter as the breeze from outside catches the corners of the door caused Junsu to flitch in that direction. Nothing. Nothing but only the wind was entering through that passage, he knew but wanted to prove himself wrong. Just once, why couldn’t he and everyone else be proven wrong?

“So.” Jaejoong deferred his attention as he grabbed onto Junsu’s hand. “Me sitting out won’t help my dancing improve right? Let’s dance!”

“Ow!”

“Sorry!” Jaejoong apologised after catching Junsu’s toes once again.

“It’s fine, let’s go again.”

“It’s no use; I’m shit at this whole thing.”

“It’ll improve. It’s only the first day hyung.”

“How many times Su-ah? I can’t dance, you should know.”

Junsu laughs reminiscing back to the days when they were younger. Music, a club, and a ‘slightly’ drunken Jaejoong. Junsu will say nothing more.

“Maybe he needs some private lessons.” Yoochun sneered beside them as he winked childishly to Jaejoong.

“Private lessons?!” Jaejoong exclaimed in horrification”

“I need him to get this perfect for the wedding; it’s no use if he carries on like this...” Liyin added, whilst Yoochun and her danced around them.

“Hey! I don’t need private lessons, no offence Su. But nothing will have me perfecting this dance routine, it’s useless.”

“But you’re the best man Jaejoong Oppa!”

“Tell you fiancée to get a different one!”

“Nope I will not get Changmin!”

“I guess you’re stuck with my lovely family and my private lessons hyung!” Junsu states “Okay guys I guess we’re done for the day! Want to stay a little longer hyung?”

~~~~~~
His car pulls into the carpark of the dance studio; he watches the revolving door of the building turn. It goes from fully vacant to occupied in a few minutes, occupied with his lover’s family and friends.
They walk past his car avoiding his following eyes, and then a surprising knock on the window brings his attention to the women beside him.
“So you decided to show your face? Well at least this time you actually bothered to turn up, even if you are two and a half hours late. You’re improving.”
“I ha-”
“I’ve heard them all before, my naive brother may believe your excuses but they don’t and won’t work on me. I assume you want to see him, I mean that is the reason why you are here correct?”
“Of course Noona.”
“Haven’t I made it clear Yunho-shi? Until the day you marry our Junsu is the day you have the right to call me Noona.”
“So you’re giving me permission to marry Junsu?”
“You want to marry Junsu?!”
“Why of course Yeonhee-shi.”
“Your relationship won’t last much longer to see through marriage if I have anything to do with it” Yeonhee mumbles under her breath. “Goodbye” wasting more than enough time on him, she leaves a smirking Yunho.
As the carpark slowing becomes empty, Yunho continues to procrastinate, anything to avoid an angry Junsu. He had to think up of a good enough excuse to keep himself in Junsu’s good books. Dawn begins to take over as the darkness of the night clouds over the bright skies, the light of the dance room switches on drawing the suspicious eyes of Yunho.
~~~~~~

“Let’s try again.”  Junsu laughs.

“Don’t laugh! I can’t do this!”

“Yes you can just focus, it’s just the two of us now, don’t let the nerves take over.”

“I can’t even get a few simple steps right, how am I supposed to get a whole dance routine right?!”

“Jeez hyung, you have a few weeks to practice. And you know what they say practice makes perfect.”

“Ha, whoever said that clearly didn’t know a person like me. And to the person who invented dancing. ‘thank you so much for this opportunity’” Jaejoong scoffs sarcastically.

“Don’t be silly, you’ll be in perfect sync with everyone in no time. And dancing wasn’t invented; it’s a form of art each country adopt into their culture. So come on, let’s go again.”

Junsu runs to his iPod and puts the song on loop; he takes his position as the female. Guiding Jaejoong’s hand to mould in the crook of his hips as his hand rest upon Jaejoong’s shoulder. His other hands grabs the older man’s wrist, fingers running up Jaejoong’s hand locking comfortably in position.

“Remember the man has to lead. So head up...” Jaejoong immediately shoots his head up straight and stiff, “relax hyung and be confident!” Junsu smiled reassuringly “just let your mind run free and follow the rhythm of the music. Ready? 5, 6, 7, 8.”

Jaejoong started cautiously as he did previously, his eyes slowly returning back to his feet mimicking Junsu’s steps. The man has to lead, he remembers. Jaejoong takes a deep breath and keeps eye contact with Junsu and not his feet.

It was after the third loop of the song where Jaejoong finally found his feet on the floor and not on Junsu’s feet. He relaxed, found his rhythm locked deep within and started to dance.

“You’re doing good” Junsu whispered.

“I’m trying because of you by the way. Your sisters may have tried, but I’m determined to see you dance again.”

“I am dancing. It’s great with the children.”

“I mean you. Dancing alone, on stage where your comfort zone lies.”

“Oh that’s over now, I’ve moved on.”

“To teaching young kids? You have so much potential to go far Junsu, really far.”

“No, it-”

Junsu had unintentionally slowed his paced trying to justify his reasons to Jaejoong, whilst Jaejoong continued to lead the way, they eventually clash. Junsu nips the corner of Jaejoong’s tracksuit bottoms causing the older man to fall backwards. His arm automatically hooks around Jaejoong’s waist trying to cushion him from the fall.

“Jae!”

The weight of the older man drags Junsu along with him resulting in an awkward fall where Junsu rests on top of Jaejoong.

“Shit! Jae, are you okay?”

Jaejoong doesn’t move, he simply lies motionless with his arms above his head, his fringe obstructing his vision.

“Jae...Jae....” Junsu lightly hits against Jaejoong’s cheeks as fear overcomes him.

Jaejoong’s hands cups over Junsu’s “I knew ‘Jae’ would come out sooner or a later, I was wondering how long it would take for normality to strike.”

“Hyung! You had me scared for a second then!”

“Just a second?! Junsu, stick with ‘Jae’, it sounds more you” Jaejoong smiled, his thumb rubbing against Junsu’s fingers.

“Ahem...” Junsu laughs away his embarrassment as he jumps to his feet “le- let’s take a break. Look there’s a piano in the corner; I show you how much I have improved since the last time you taught me.”

A familiar melody echoes throughout the room, Junsu’s fingers danced expertly over black and ivory keys. Every cold key pressed sings a soothing note, conveying into a song filled with many memories for both Junsu and Jaejoong.

Jaejoong leans against the piano, watching in adoration, swaying along to the beauty that played, both minds soon trailed into another world where they were once young children.

~~~~~~
In the isolation of his car, Yunho watched with careful eyes. Every step, every motion, every corner of lips arising, Yunho observed.
Through the transparent glass he watches his lover with another man, dancing, falling, smiling, laughing. His hands clenches against the steering wheel, he contemplates whether storming up to the studio and punching the living daylights out of the man was a good idea. What he witnessed made his blood boil as the scene replayed in his mind.
No, he had a better idea “that man is dead”.
~~~~~~

Jaejoong leaves first whilst Junsu decides to stay for a little longer.

As the cold breeze hits his face burning his pale and sensitive skin, he catches a confronting “hey you!” behind him and turns towards the angry voice. He straightens himself up and readies himself for whatever this crazy looking person was about to do.

“I saw you up there with my man, what do you think you were doing flirting with someone who is already taken?!” Yunho exclaimed, pushing Jaejoong up against the wall.

“Flirting? Taken?” Jaejoong laughs “ah so you must be the infamous Yunho. I’ve heard so much about you, glad to finally put a face to the name” Jaejoong continued extending his hand out to Yunho.

Yunho ignored the gesture “just keep away from Junsu and you’ll be fine.”

“Be fine? Are you sure I should be the one worrying? Look I don’t know what you saw, clearly you’ve misunderstood. It’s nothing like what you believe, we’re just old friends.”

“I don’t care who you are, just keep your distance.”

“As threatening as this threat sounds, I have you find that it will be a bit hard for me to keep my distance. Well you do know Junsu is teaching us to dance for his sister’s wedding right? No I guess you don’t as you didn’t turn up today, or maybe you did, I mean that’s why you’re here what? 3 and a half hours later?”

“You better watch your back; I’m keeping a close eye on you!”

“Like I said before, should I be the one worrying? I guess I see you tomorrow then Yunho-shi.”
