For a few moments there was no response, though a bit of shuffling in the next room indicated that there must have been some other form of life around. And indeed after some time it peeked around the doorway, a small mug in one hand and munching on a already half eaten piece of toast.

Richard probably didn't mean for his face to fall upon seeing who had decided to visit. But it did.

"I'm guessing asking you to call ahead next time would be pointless?" Surprisingly, he didn't sound as agitated as the question implied. Though perhaps a little more resigned than he intended.

"What sort of work?" ....very resigned.

As Richard's face fell the Marquis's lips drew back in something close to a sneer at the other's appearance, really now, and he stepped forward, hand waving in the air.

"The great Hunter of London Below never sleeps." He said in false joviality, peering around. He didn't see the dear Lady anywhere- so they weren't that close. Yet. It still irked him how long it took to learn such a thing. Professional image really.

He turned sharply to the other, brow raised. "Well? Get a move on will you. Unlike you some of us have time that is worth something." He waved a hand at Richard, blatantly ignoring his inquiries.

That last comment earned just a bit of a frown, and for a second there Richard looked like he was about to comment back. Likely a little less pleasantly. The moment he opened his mouth, however, he seemed to think better of it and merely started on the toast again.

"Give me a few minutes," he muttered (sulking? him? of course not), and temporarily disappeared back into the other room. He didn't have the first idea what he was going to need, so it'd probably be safer to just pack everything. Right?

It turned out to be more than just a few minutes before he returned, knife and jacket in hand and a small, rather tattered duffel bag slung over one shoulder. "You know, you still haven't told me how to fight this thing. That would probably be a very nice thing to know beforehand, don't you think?"
