When the weather gets cold and rainy (as it does in Seattle... kind of a lot), the first thing that comes to mind is: stew! I was reading American Gods and at some point the main character eats stew, and I thought: That sounds really good right now. Thank you for sharing this recipe. I was just thinking today I am really in the mood for stew. Chicken legs are due to go on sale in the next couple of weeks and this will be on our menu. thanks :D

Speaking of which, this recipe might work well atop rice for a bit of a gumbo-esgue vibe.
