In honor of Valentine's Day, I decided to do just that: I smooshed together (excuse the technical terminology) a rich, decadent cheesecake and a moist red velvet cake. These layers sit over a layer of ganache in an oreo crust, and the entire thing is decorated with ( Read more... )

I don't ever comment on your blog or on your LJ posts because I'm awful like that and I never comment on anything. But, I just wanted to tell you how much I appreciate your posts. I love the things that you bake and I also love the stories you tell. :) Out of all the baking blogs I follow, yours is by far my favorite. So, thank you! Thanks for giving me wonderful ideas and for giving me endless entertainment. Your posts are a bright spot in my day.

I use Oreos, yes! I use the regular oreos -- they come out this color when pulverized despite the white cream filling :)

I do tend to pulverize the heck out of them! haha.

I hope you all love it!! It comes out so pretty. My biggest piece of advice is to take the cake out as SOON as it can be called done (I checked often with a toothpick after ~20 min). It can get dry easily if overbaked. :) Enjoy!!
