Almond Fudge

I found a recipe somewhere on the net, and it reminded me of the sweets we used to make at my Swedish classmate Rosita's house in Moshi, Tanzania, back when I was a little girl. It's ridiculously simple to make, and really good (although that might just be the childhood memories speaking - it's VERY sweet and quite rich) - have fun! :)

How long were you in Tanzania for? I lived there for six months while studying abroad at the University of Dar es Salaam four years ago and I LOVED it there. I still make ugali for dinner sometimes now that I'm back in the States. I never had any desserts like this one, but I remember ordering a birthday cake for a friend from a mzungu-y bakery in Dar and being enchanted by the crunch of raw sugar in the frosting on the cake. :)

I spent 2½ years there as a child, and again 2 years as a teenager, living in Moshi with my family. :)
