I'll make this short: My husband and I have had to stay with his parents for a few weeks due to moving & a variety of issues. I'd really like to get them something nice, and I KNOW his mom loves this one type of plum she never can seem to find anywhere. visit http://butcherranch.org/ they do mail order from my neck of the woods, where Santa Rosas are plentiful and tasty.

Of course, you could spring for a tree if they've a big enough yard...

Awesome, thanks! Yeah if our seasons weren't so...brutal, I would. I don't think the trees could handle it. But I'm not sure :). They have a yard, but we don't yet unfortunately. I wish!

Actually, if you do a search entitled Santa Rosa Plums mail order, you will find a number of sources.
http://www.ridgeroadgardencenter.com/barerooT2007.htm, in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada, sells Santa Rosa trees. I think they might survive CO winters--and that the trees will happily take the "chill hours" given by such a winter. Try searching either Santa Rosa Plum trees mail order or Santa Rosa Plum trees bareroot--or ask around at your local nurseries for spring plantings.

If you google "Santa Rosa plums" you will find that many handy websites come up from which you can buy Santa Rosa plums.
