since you all are so creative, hopefully someone can help me out! :) I need to bring some kind of dish to a cultural festival at school. It can be any kind of food that is typical of any specific culture (not american). The catch is it cant be something that needs to be heated up or alot of work (It is for school and we have to be there at 7 but ( Read more... )

If you've got a food processor, hummus is dead easy, won't need to be heated up. Bring a bowl, along with some pita and you're set.

I don't believe this is healthy, but most people enjoy it. I got the recipe (more appropriately, directions to make) from a friend of mine who is Hawaiian.

All it involves is cooking equal amounts of macaroni pasta and potato cubes, as though you were going to make potato or macaroni salad. Hard boiled eggs can be added, as well, and even our the flavor a bit. You then add canned tuna, (I use 2 cans, but always make a large bowl serving) and mayo. Then add garlic salt to your preference, and add pepper to taste.
Mix it all together, and refrigerate. People LOVE this, and it always gets eaten with no leftovers.
