green beans amaretto

Adapted from this recipe, which I made unaltered a few months ago and found to be disgustingly sugary, like candied green beans. My friend and boyfriend actually liked the original recipe, so I tried again with some changes. This adaptation is the polar opposite of disgusting. (The friend and boyfriend liked it better too.)

I'm not gonna lie - your post caught my eye because of the icon. Reading it however proved invaluable - I laughed and have a new recipe to try.

Setting things on fire in the kitchen is the coolest. Even if the flames are only temporary. I am definitely going to try this recipe!

yes it's fun! i've only ever lit crepes suzette on fire before, and that wasn't nearly as scary.

A lovely way to enjoy the Amaretto flavor without turning the dish into instant dessert is to mix it 50-50 with balsamic vinegar, of all things. I discovered this with a recipe for pears roasted in a simple sauce of BV and Amaretto, and have since tried it on vegetables to happy effect.

oh i LOVE balsamic vinegar. in this case the lemon juice and jim beam cut the sweetness nicely, but i think i'll try your way next time, for variety.
