I moved to texas three years ago but I grew up in the gorge. I so miss going and picking wild berries and making scrumptious desserts. Thanks so much for sharing and the pics it reminds me of home.
Oh, I miss the blackberries! I've been staying with my fiance and his parents this summer, and missed all of Oregon's fresh berries! That cobbler's gorgeous. Do you have a particular recipe, or just cake-batter-and-berries?
Yup, Albany is the first place I've lived long enough (28 years!) to consider it my home town. I love this part of Oregon, right down to the rural rednecks and the grass-seed fields.

In a pan, heat 2/3c water and stir in 2/3c sugar until dissolved. Pour over 2c of berries and set aside.
Cream 1/4c butter and 1/2c sugar, then sift in 1c flour, 2 tsp baking powder and 1/8tsp salt while alternatley pouring in 1/2c whole milk.
Grease a 9 inch square baking pan, pour in the batter, and then add the berry mixture on top.
Bake at 350 for about an hour, or until the batter has risen and formed a golden crust on top.
