Just cause its been going through my mind on people's stance on this sort of thing.

I will use Integra Hellsing as the example as she is the one that made me think of it.

Integra Hellsing is an extremely powerful woman. She gets her orders from the queen, albiet she got it from birth, but she earned it. She's tough and strong in a military position ( Read more... )

Empowering.

Especially when contrasted with the clothes of the other characters.

Take Seras for example - I'd call her a powerful character, but she wears a much more kittenish outfit that reflects her personality.

Integra (it's stated) chose to be called 'Sir' instead of 'Dame', wears suits, and smokes. I think it's part of the identity that she choose for herself - she's a very masculine woman who is still sexy as all hell.

There are different kinds of 'power clothes' and I think both Integra and Seras are in power clothes that reflect their individual personalities while still being sexy as fuck.

Empowering.

When I first saw her being called Sir, wearing a suit and with a cigar though, I thought she was a guy. ^^;

Definitely empowering and very sexy. I think she dresses how she does to project how she defines herself; her badassery is more than enough to do the impressing. :)

It makes me think of Katherine Hepburn a bit, actually.
